The study aimed to determine malnutrition rate among Khmer children and some related factors. Methods: The study was designed as a cross-sectional study with 188 children and their mothers/caregivers.

The study was conducted in 6 communes of two districts in Thanh Hoa province: Thach Thanh and Quang Xuong. The results showed that malnutrition prevalence of children under 5 in Thanh Hoa was still high (according to WHO classification): the prevalence of underweight, stunting and wasting was: 16.2%, 23% and 4.6%.
