Results of survey on 523 people selling functional food showed that 88.5% to 99.8% knew the necessary conditions of a facility selling functional foods. 96 – 98.1% knew the correct procedure of food safety practices of food business but only 41.5% knew that health check was needed before employing a person.
The study aimed to evaluate the maintenance conditions to assure food safety in 128 food facilities that had certification on food safety (39 restaurants and 49 collective kitchen) in Quy Nhon.
English summary: A study was conducted on 65 facilities (29 producing fish cakes and 36 producing pork ham) in Quy Nhon and Tuy Phuoc. The results showed that 20% of the samples had borax, of which fish cake had 23,8% and pork ham had 25%. There were 90.8% of facility owners having qualified knowledge of food safety.

Study objects: 1. To assess nutritional status of children under 5 years old having gastrointestinal surgery at Vietnam National Hospital of Pediatrics in 2018. 2. To describe the dietary intake of gastrointestinal post – surgery children under 5 years old at Vietnam National Hospital of Pediatrics in 2018.
The study was conducted on 752 inpatients, who were still able to walk and feed themselves at the Clinical Nutrition Department of the Frienship Hospital. The results showed that: The rate of overweight (BMI ≥25) was 23.4%, obesity (BMI ≥30) was 1.3%. Using the standars of WPRO & IDI for person of ASIA, these rates was 29.5% for overweight (BMI ≥23.0), and 24.7% for obesity (BMI≥25). These results were higher than the data of a study 20 years ago (BMI ≥25 was 4.5%) at the same hospital (p<0.001).
