Micronutrient (vitamin, minerals and trace elements) involved in almost metabolism processes of the body: enzyme activities, reproduction and growth of the cellule. Thus directly or indirectly they have important roles in regulating the growth of the human body.
An evaluation survey on the impact nutrition intervention activities was conducted in Thuong Tin district in April 2004. The survey’s objective was to assess the impact of 10 year-multisectoral intervention activities on household food security and nutritional status of mothers and children.

Total 120 high risk food samples including of fermented meat products, cooked entrails and vegetables eaten raw served at ambient temperature in Hanoi market were examined for microbiological quality. In general, 100% of processed meat were high aerobic plate counts, 80% were high coliform contaminated and exceeding, the bacterial standard.

Nowadays, the rate of malnutrition is still high in Vietnam. It is difficult for all the practitioners in treating and rehabilitating these patients because there are a member of many combined causal factors such as lack of food intake, unappropriate maternal nutrition knowledge and diseases.
Objectives: To determine the prevalence of iodine deficiency (urinary iodine < 10 µg/dl) and related factors in pregnant women in HCMC. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted in 776 pregnant women HCMC. Casual spot urine in the morning of survey and a sample of using salt were collected from each subject to measure iodine. Iodine deficiency was classified into 3 groups as severe (urinary iodine < µg/dl), moderate (2-4.9 µg/dl), and mild (5-9.9 µg/dl).
The study is to evaluate the effectiveness of vitamin A fortified cooking oil on nutritional status of children aged 3-5 years. A double-blind, randomized controlled trial was conducted among 304 children aged 3 to 5 years who were randomly assigned to the experimental and control group.

Antibacterial activity of four herbal plants: Houttuynia cordata, Mentha species, Artemisia vulgaris car.indica and Allium sativum, was exam-ined against a reference strain (S.aureus ATCC 25923) using a novel microtiter plate method.

A cross-sectional analytic study was conducted aimed to assess actual rate of overweight-obesity among rural adults aged 25-64 and to investigate factors related to overweight-obesity. The results showed that: The rate of to overweight-obesity among rural Bac Giang, Bac Ninh and Quang Ninh adults aged 25-64 was 13.9% in average, 15.6% in men and 12.0% in women.
Recently the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Republic of Korea, announced the “Dietary Guidelines for Korean Adults (DGKA),” which includes ten Dietary Goals, six Dietary Guidelines, and twenty-three Action Guidelines. DGKA are developed as the revision of the 2003 Dietary Guidelines for Koreans, targeting adult population.
Support to improve nutritional status and health through measures to ensure water safety is the involvement of communities in three rural communes of Vietnam (Swan Project) conducted by the Institute of Nutrition and Institute International Life Science Center Japan to enhance health (ILSI Japan CHP), with funding support from the Organization Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) under development partners program (JPP).

The rate of overweight-obesity of men was higher than women. Waist/ Hip ratio (WHR) > 0.90 of men was 34.3%, (WHR) > 0.85 of women was 30.7%.

Aims: To describe actual food intake of women aged 40-65 years with BMI ≥ 23 kg/m2 in Hanoi, 2016. Methods: A cross sectional study was conducted on women aged 40-65 years with BMI ≥ 23 kg/m2 in Hanoi, 2016. Results: The average age was approximately 52 years old with BMI= 25.6±3.8 kg/m2. The dietary energy level of the study subjects was 1628 (1589,2; 1705,5) kcal /person/day.
Objectives: To assess the effects of zinc supplementation on malnourished children with normal serum zinc concentration. Method: A randomized, controlled, single-blinded clinical trial.
The study was carried out in over six months on 450 children from 7-8 years old in three primary schools in Yen Phong District, Bac Ninh Province. The selected children were divided into three groups: group 1 was given milk enriched with multi -micronutrients, group 2 - standard milk, and group 3 was the control group.
